Kundulini is from the Sanskrit, literally meaning snake. In Kundalini yoga, a system of meditation, latent female energy is conceived as being coiled at the base of the spine, and the meditation is focused on the release of this energy. I prefer John Tiong Chunghoo’s description “. . . the mother energy coiled at the end of the spine . . . like a serpent. In meditation, you get this energy up to your top chakra. It is a female energy meeting the male energy at the top of the crown.”  ~ yours truly, df
