Hi, Donna, This is wonderful. When I read all these comments by editors of a genre that I have never felt comfortable writing, it helps me to understand why. I often find that the things worth saying seldom have words that can convey that elusive mystery. While I often enjoy reading other people’s haibun I just can’t bring myself to nail down that “something” insight brings in an instant and then takes away just as fast.

    • Haibun is a protean form, which is why I like it so much. Have you tried experimenting with it, Merrill?

PS… I find that since haiga is a form consisting of unlike parts… it helps me overcome the situation that faces me in haibun.

    • I want to make sure that I understand, Merrill. What situation does the haibun present you with?

There are no words for anything worth saying… 🙂

Hello dear Donna – this was invaluable – am starting to venture into Haibun – invaluable, thank you

    • Glad to hear it, Valli! I know you’ll make rich use of the information. As you know, I love the haibun form, and I think you’ll find it unique. Here’s to the haibun! ~ Donna
