what lies beneath eh! – came across her poetry decades ago…must be in a biography… too many assumptions based on looks…

    • She knew she was a franchise . . . and the franchise either didn’t know thee was someone with an inner life there or they didn’t care, couldn’t be bothered, too busy making money?

It seems a shame to me that so many of these truths she was just coming to at such a late stage in her life. I’m sure it made it harder to navigate the high impact of her intense life. Finding a vocabulary to put the achings and searchings of a heart perhaps gave her much strength along the way… The problem with words with no one who is wise to share them with, is that you never go beyond your own limits. I know people like her who are only saved by having loving families around them… being along this is a portrait in vulnerability.

    • . . . and that vulnerability was cashed in by an empire of men who made gobs of money off her. Amy Winehouse is another more recent example.

That should read: “being alone this is a portait in vulnerability.”
