The Rev. Jesse Jackson was responsible for many programs to help black Americans and the poor, including Head Start, School Lunches, Operation Push, and the Rainbow Coalition. A supporter and mentee of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, he rose within the ranks of the Democratic Party in his own run for the presidential nomination years ago, only to be rebuffed by the party. Many party members distanced themselves from Jackson because of his “socialist” principles. He has come out on the right side of history, as will Sen. Bernie Sanders, presidency or no presidency. – word pond

And I will tell you this, there is a complete lack of empathy in this guy in the White House right now.

And I will bring that to you. If you have trouble stretching your paycheck to pay for that rent, I know you, and I will fight for you. If you have trouble deciding if you’re going pay for your child care or your long-term care, I know you, and I will fight for you. If you have trouble figuring out if you’re going to fill your refrigerator or fill your prescription drug, I know you, and I will fight for you.– Senator Amy Klobuchar

The New Hampshire Union Leader endorsed Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) Sunday in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary. Klobuchar was previously endorsed by The New York Times, which chose to support both her and Warren in the race.

The newspaper, located in Manchester, N.H., pitched Klobuchar as the strongest candidate in the race, saying she does not have the “weaknesses” of her opponents.

“[President] Trump doesn’t want to face her. He is hoping for [Sen.] Bernie [Sanders (I-Vt.)], [former Vice President Joe] Biden, [former South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete ] Buttigieg or [Sen. Elizabeth] Warren [(D-Mass)]. Each has weaknesses, whether of age, inexperience or a far-left agenda that thrills some liberals but is ripe for exploitation in a mainstream general election,” Union Leader Editor Joe McQuaid and Publisher Brendan McQuaid wrote.
