White female wolf (Canis lupus) in the Atigun Valley, Alaska. This wolf dens in the riverbank of the Atigun inside the main valley about five miles south of Galbraith Camp. She roams at least twenty miles a day in search of food, from the main valley den into the gorge and then back to the valley proper.

EPA: Save Our Bees and the Food We Eat! Ban Bayer’s Chemicals Now! / Sign Petition

It’s only fair that we do all we can to reconstitute as near as possible, the ecology of the bee. They were here before us, and they are the basis of the earth’s food chain. Please sign this petition, share it along, and do whatever you can to stop the use of insecticides and pesticides. Read Bringing Nature Home: How Native Plants Sustain Wildlife in Our Gardens by Douglas W. Tallamy. Go native with your “lawn”. Lawn is a manmade concept out of step in every way with ecological communities everywhere. Lawns require cool temperatures and lots of water, and this in turn requires consistent applications of time, money, physical labor, pesticides and insecticides. The end result is killing off all natural life forms for the sake of status and looks: the earthworm that creates topsoil, the pollinators, and all sorts of bugs that birds rely on. Thanks. ~ DF
