“I said it was the new normal a few years ago,’’ Brown told Politico. “This is serious …. but this is only the beginning. This is only a taste of the horror and the terror that will occur in decades.’’

“And it will occur in various spots: in America, in Africa, in Canada,’’ Brown added. “It’s unpredictable, other than the fact that it will get worse in present trajectory. Washington, under [President] Trump, is doing very little — and even the Congress has been unable to mobilize under Washington.’’ – ex-Governor Jerry Brown

California Governor-elect Edmund G. Brown, Jr

Watch this man govern the most populous state in the country with the ninth largest economy (GDP or gross domestic product) in the world. He is fit, mature, and possesses an excellence of mind this writer has rarely experienced.  As the state’s youngest governor from 1975 through 1983 he demonstrated skills, thinking and creativity beyond his years and beyond the American political landscape of those times in which he was affectionately and disingenuously referred to as ‘Governor Moonbeam’. He was ahead of his time and still is. I think that what he will accomplish in California could provide just the prototype the rest of the country needs to move forward with a green economy and a more open, democratic form of governance. Welcome back, Jerry Brown! ~ yours truly, df
