Latin Fusion, eclectic  musicians and Los Angeles natives, collectively known as La Santa Cecilia, so named for the patron saint of music, played to an enthralled  New Haven audience assembled last night on the green for the last evening of this city’s International Festival of Arts & Ideas. They performed their polyrhythmic songs  originating in their Latin heritage and culture, as well as a cover of John Lennon’s composition for the Beatles, “Strawberry Fields Forever” and dedicated it to past, present, and future migrant farm workers who bring fruits and vegetables to all Americans. Only gifted musicians can cover great songs and make them their own. That’s La Santa Cecilia.  – Donna Fleischer
