Who’s To Blame for Our Polluted Tap Water? | Water | AlterNet.

“. . . tap water and the public agencies that provide it are not the enemy.” ~ Wenonah Hauter

In my state the public agency responsible for the safety, purity, and availability of our drinking water from the tap is the Metropolitan District Commission. Their proven longitudinal  track record has been nothing short of stellar. Yet, efforts to privatize and so exchange an affordable source of water for high-yield profits are nibbling along the edges of a dependable system that has been in place for decades. Remember Bolivia! where privatized water made it unaffordable for farmers to water their crops. Don’t let privatization advocates persuade you to trade something you need for something they need. ~ yours truly, df
